Why Is a Bypass Cable Required?

Beginning with the 2018 model year, Ram/Cummins applications use additional security that can prevent a tuning device from communicating directly with the necessary vehicle modules through the standard OBD-II connection.

The bypass cable provides the connection needed to allow compatible tuning hardware to communicate with the vehicle for flashing.

If you are purchasing our 2018-2024 6.7L Cummins EFI Live Custom Tuning, this bypass cable is required to flash the vehicle through the OBD-II port.

The bypass cable is not included with custom tuning unless specifically stated.
