Important ECM Unlock Information

2017–2018 L5P

2017–2018.5 L5P Duramax trucks require the HP Tuners Unlock Cable for the initial ECM unlocking and tuning process.

If your ECM has not previously been unlocked, make sure you have the required hardware before ordering.

2018.5-2019 L5P

2018.5-2019 L5P Duramax models do not require the HP Tuners Unlock Cable and can be unlocked and tuned through the applicable HP Tuners process.

Available Tuning Options

Single Tune

A custom calibration designed around a specific power level and intended use.

Single-tune calibrations can be optimized for:

• Towing
• Daily driving
• Improved throttle response
• Increased torque and horsepower
• Performance applications

This is a great option for customers who want one dedicated calibration and don't need to change power levels while driving.

Shift on the Fly (SOTF) – 5 Tunes

Upgrade to Shift on the Fly (SOTF) and gain access to up to five selectable power levels.

SOTF gives you the flexibility to change between different calibrations based on how you're using the truck, making it ideal for trucks that see a combination of towing, daily driving, and performance use.

Depending on your vehicle and tuning configuration, additional SOTF hardware may be required and is not included with the tune files unless specifically stated.

Transmission Tuning

Custom transmission tuning is available to complement your engine calibration and overall vehicle setup.

Transmission tuning can improve:

• Shift quality
• Shift timing and strategy
• Torque converter operation
• Torque management
• Power delivery
• Drivability under load

Transmission tuning is especially recommended for trucks running increased power levels or modified vehicle configurations.

When Transmission Tuning = Yes is selected, you will be required to provide the requested TCM Serial Number when ordering.

HP Tuners Universal Credits

HP Tuners Universal Credits may be required to license your vehicle for tuning.

If you select HP Tuners Universal Credits = Yes, you will be required to provide your:

MPVI Serial Number

This allows us to obtain the information needed for your specific HP Tuners device and tuning order.

What You'll Need

To build your custom L5P tune, please provide:

• 17-character Vehicle VIN
• Tune Description and Vehicle Information
• Complete list of vehicle modifications
• Tire Size
• TCM Serial Number when purchasing Transmission Tuning
• MPVI Serial Number when purchasing HP Tuners Universal Credits

Please provide complete and accurate information. Your tune is built around the vehicle configuration you submit, and incorrect or incomplete information can delay your order.

Custom Tune Sales Policy

All custom tuning sales are final and non-refundable.

Each tune is custom-built specifically for your vehicle using the VIN, vehicle information, modifications, and options you provide when ordering. Because these calibrations are personalized and cannot be resold or reused, custom tuning purchases are not eligible for refunds, returns, or exchanges once tuning has begun or the tune files have been delivered.

Emissions & Competition Use Notice

All tuning and vehicle modifications must comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Certain calibrations or vehicle configurations may be appropriate only for lawful competition or other exempt applications.

It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that the vehicle, modifications, and intended use comply with applicable regulations. Proven Power Solutions may require additional information regarding the vehicle and intended use before providing certain calibrations.
